Optimize testosterone levels and decrease estradiol concentrations should lower the overall expression of alpha-2-receptors, additionally, some anti-depressants antagonize the receptor.

1.) Mianserin
2.) Mirtazapine
3.) Abilify (apriprazole)

Some anti-depressants can de-sensitize the receptors, which is similar, and possibly more effective than antagonism.

Among these.

DAT/NET inhibitors such as bupropion can achieve this end.

Finally, the supplements RAUWOLSCINE & YOHIMBINE directly antagonize the alpha-2-receptor, however, their half-lives and active lives are extremely short..and are ideal for pre-workout and stamina boosting as opposed to long-term memory / energy enhancement.

You can also modulate alpha-receptor densities by a number of other indirect pathways such as cortisol modulation and opiate receptor modulation/antagonism.
